Afterglow
Yesterday's festivities were very inspiring. I am feeling the hope that we've been hearing so much about over the past year. The crowds, the music, the speech... I am feeling as though today is really the start of the new year. So, let me wish everyone a Happy New Year!
If we can just get past this debacle of a stimulus package, then I think that we may have a great new era of politics. I know that's a giant hurdle, but I'm "hopeful" today.

I felt a degree of hope watching the inauguration and all the hoopla. And I found it interesting later in the day as we flipped past all the Inaugural Balls and festivities, that we do so much to celebrate our Presidents BEFORE they do anything.
The very next day Obama signed laws closing the detention facilities at Guantanamo Bay, and I thought, "Well, that's about as close as a president can come to doing great things before he's in office." One day in for great changes ain't too shabby.
